Sunday markets are very popular in London. The Columbia Road Sunday Flower Market is near Shoreditch where we live. A relatively small market, the road is pedestrianized every Sunday morning and one can stroll, browse the shops, and people watch. We saw many people leaving with armloads of fresh flowers. Among the shops selling vintage goods are many bakeries where you can buy fresh breads, breakfast pastries and lots of goodies. The almond croissant and cappuccino was delicious!
One of the joys of living in, rather than just visiting, a city like London is that one gets to experience daily life as many locals do. We walked around some of the side streets in this charming little neighborhood and look forward to more of the same.
